Ep: 68 | Nick Good | The Worrisome World of Writing
Wednesday Apr 03, 2019
Wednesday Apr 03, 2019
Nick Good is a fellow podcaster, writer, and student of the world which is obvious by his wide-ranging interests and esoteric life knowledge. My intention was to dive deep into the world of writing with Nick and talk about his education, his creative process, and common struggles facing artists. We did cover a bit of that in the episode, but got sidetracked on a number of occasions, talking about politics, psychology, social media, and a slew of other topics. Regardless of your interests, there's something here for you!

Ep: 67 | Councillor Scott McKeen | No Other Way
Wednesday Mar 27, 2019
Wednesday Mar 27, 2019
This week I dive into the political world of Edmonton and pull my guest from the clutches of City Council. Ward 6 City Councillor Scott McKeen and I had a wide-ranging conversation that covered everything from the Councillor’s past life as a journalist, to why he got into politics, current issues facing our city, and we even discuss some of his darker days dealing with mental health and addiction issues. Councillor McKeen's personality and life story stands up as a shining example of what can be accomplished by being a decent, honest, and admittedly flawed human being.

Ep: 62 | Tim Yakimec | Toi, Toi, Toi to the Edmonton Opera
Wednesday Feb 06, 2019
Wednesday Feb 06, 2019
This week I thought I could bring a little more culture into the podcast and, hopefully, into your lives, so I brought Edmonton Opera's General Director, Tim Yakimec on the show. Tim began his career with Edmonton Opera as an assistant stage manager 23 years ago and has since worked his way up through the organization. Tim does a great job of walking a beginner like me through the history of the opera, what goes on behind the scenes, and why we, in the city of Edmonton, should care about it. Hope to see everyone at the finale of Hansel and Gretel this Friday, February 8!

Ep: 60 | Marty Forbes | Grandpa's On Twitter!
Wednesday Jan 23, 2019
Wednesday Jan 23, 2019
VP, GM, and Director are some of the titles Marty Forbes has held professionally in his 48+ years in radio broadcast. World traveller, grandfather, and philanthropist are among some of the roles he occupies in his personal life which, I would argue, are the ones he should be most proud of. An incumbent in the public service sector, Marty has raised tens of millions for charities and worked with organizations such as the Jerry Forbes Centre, Santas Anonymous, the Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree, Crescendo, and the John Cameron Changing Lives Foundation. In his "retirement", Marty does digital media and marketing consulting through his company, Radiowise. As energetic and enjoyable as they come, Marty Forbes is a force of a nature!
